I have been dabbling in juicing these past 4 – 5 weeks. The more I use other people’s recipes to learn certain taste combinations, the more ambitious and creative I’ve become.
Here is one of the most popular green juices created by Joe Cross and Phil Staples from their Reboot Program.
- 1 cucumber
- 4 celery stalks
- 2 apples
- 6-8 leaves kale (Australian tuscan cabbage)
- 1/2 lemon
- 1 tbsp ginger
For a basic green juice, the original Mean Green Juice outlined above is a great place to get started. Below is my mean green juice adaptation.
Tammy’s Mean Green
Step 1: Blend Together (in your blender)
- 3/4 cups of clean water
- 3 large handfuls of organic spinach
- few bits of ginger sliced
- small handful of parsley
Step 2: Juice Together (using your juicer)
- 2 organic apples (Ambrosia are my favorite)
- 1 large cucumber (skin in tact as long as it is organic)
- 1 lemon (do not peel)
- 3 medium stalks of celery
- 1 – 1.5 inch chunk of ginger
Instructions: Add juice to blender – blend thoroughly. Pour over ice and enjoy!
Yields: 2 large glasses
